Biography

I was born in Europe. Raised between Spain and England. My dad's side was a big sailing family. My mother's family grew up during and after the Spanish civil war. I Spent a year in Alanta 'cuz of my dads job,  & ended up going to University in Athens Ga, because of that.  I stuck around, like a bad rash. My Immigration was processed in Montana, where I lived for 10 years, and had numerous adventures. I have traveled and nearly died at sea. I've seen the northern lights back packing on the continental divide. My current song inspiration is the Camino de Santiago, where I go, while visiting my aging family in Madrid.  Buen Camino!! I started writing songs 20 years ago when I got my first banjo. Mostly about the stories that keep coming.

MY BANJO
When I first got to Austin in 2005, a friend of a friend of mine camped in the front yard of the coop I was living in, while he was following the string cheese incident.  He had a banjo.  I out hippied the hippies. They didn't know what to do. I had played some guitar before, but nothing like that. I bought one impulsively the minute he left.

PICKING STYLE

I have always played in jams.   3 finger picking style but slowed down. More blues than bluegrass. This lets the banjo play more of the melody in jams. My Style sound's great with the country and song writing crews.  I can play rhythm to the mandolin, and then solo with less beats in the role pattern. Less busy, thicker sounding beets.   The accordion, well, that's your choice.
